The strategy has informed the creation of new approaches to employment and skills service delivery, the establishment and leading of teams of managers and delivery staff, sought and secured a range of income sources, established partnerships with both strategic agencies and community and voluntary sector organisations and undertaken a range of private consultancy commissions focussed on evaluation, research and organisational development and change.
She has undertaken a large number of private consultancy commissions, has raised significant resources for community based employment and skills delivery, managed her own and other public sector services and has extensive experience of working cross the EU. She holds a BA in Contemporary Cultural Studies, an MA in Urban policy and an MA in Organisational Consultancy. She is also an Associate Member of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists and Allied Professionals.

With 4 years of experience within the environmental sector and previous
3 years in the private sector, Sonia has built up expertise in
developing and co-ordinating multi-stakeholder and multi-sector
partnerships. Relevant urban regeneration experience gained at
Groundwork London includes programme development & securing strategic
partnerships with Local Authorities (Haringey, Lambeth & Wandsworth)
and the GLA family - (Well London partnership -£9 million Big Lottery
Fund and delivered across 22 communities in London); including
subsequent monitoring and reporting and evaluation functions.
Additional experience gained during this time included setting up
knowledge management strategies to maximise links between different
Groundwork thematic staff to enable cohesive solutions for the needs of
individual Boroughs and their communities.
Current consulting projects include a focus on building knowledge and
learning networks and in parallel, using these to shape interventions on
the ground. Recent success includes securing LDA ESF Youth Co-financing worth £1.1 million for a creative approach to youth employment and enterprise.

Nick has worked with and for the University of Surrey for almost 20 years and is currently Visiting Senior Fellow in Political, International and Policy Studies, Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences and an Honorary Research Fellow in Education at the University of Nottingham. read more |
Nick’s work has focussed primarily on two areas of interest adult education and establishing educational services for socially excluded people, particularly for the unemployed.
His European work is extensive. He has raised funding sources and worked on key projects, with large strategic partnerships and in funded networks. These include the EU Framework Programme, GRUNDTWIG, EU INTI, DAPHNE, Youtrain-SOCRATES, EQUAL, EUROCOMPASS, INTEGRA, LEONARDO, EU SOLICOM III and ESF. Nick has delivered services, evaluated services, projects and programmes and has published a broad portfolio of conference papers, journals, books and national and international reports.
